Dancing Wildly

What is it that gives the body 'freedom' to dance as this woman does in this video?

Well, the answer is clear to me because ever since I was strong enough to 'bop' my head to the beat, I have been expressing my feelings physically through music.
My boyfriend on the other hand, does not get the appeal.
I secretly hope to convert him and have been doing so strategically over the years ;).

What's not to love about the soulful beat of this song? The playfulness that the dancer brings forward in her facial expressions? The wild flailing of the arms that reminds me of the "Wacky, Waving, Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men"?

She is alive in these 2 minutes and 48 seconds. Her connection to the music is expressed through her body movements, big and small. The sounds are hers to play with, and I love that.
I am hoping someday, I can get back into performance art because I sort of feel like I will always need that outlet to express my natural wildness inside.

Last night, I saw a new film called The Future, by filmmaker Miranda July. July performs an interesting 'dance' involving a yellow T-shirt. It's a little strange, but familiar at the same time.

This scene reminded me that my weird, strange, or wild habits are nothing to hide. Sometimes they are necessary. And if we aren't able to express ourselves without fear of judgment, then how can we ever feel truly happy?
